1. Overview
Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC ("the Academy") is committed to fair and transparent refund practices. We value each student, participant, and customer and strive to resolve all refund and return matters promptly and equitably.
This Refund Policy ("Policy") applies to all class and course registrations and all store product purchases made through carolinaresuscitationacademy.com, by phone, or through any other channel offered by the Academy. This Policy covers two distinct categories, each governed by separate rules:
-
Part A — Class & Course Registration Refunds (Sections 2.1–2.6)
-
Part B — Store & Product Purchase Refunds (Sections 3.1–3.6)
Please read the section applicable to your purchase carefully, as the terms differ between these two categories.
All refund requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. Requests submitted by phone alone will not be deemed received for purposes of this Policy.
This Policy is incorporated by reference into the Academy's Class Terms & Conditions and Store Terms & Conditions. In the event of a conflict, the more specific applicable terms control.
Part A — Class & Course Registration Refunds
2. Class & Course Registration Refunds
2.1 Standard Refund Schedule
The following schedule governs all cancellations of individual class or course registrations. The applicable timeframe is calculated from the time the written cancellation request is received by the Academy to the scheduled start time of the registered class.

Less than 72 hours (3 days) before scheduled class dateNo refundA class credit equal to 50% of the registration fee may be issued at the sole discretion of the Academy

Where a participant elects a class credit in lieu of a refund, the credit terms set forth in Section 5 of this Policy apply.
2.2 Rescheduling
-
Participants may reschedule their enrollment to a different available class date one (1) time at no charge, provided the reschedule request is submitted in writing more than 72 hours before the original scheduled class date.
-
Rescheduling requests submitted within 72 hours of the scheduled class date are subject to a $25.00 rescheduling fee.
-
A second reschedule request will be treated as a cancellation and evaluated under the standard refund schedule in Section 2.1, based on the timing of the second request relative to the then-current class date.
-
All rescheduling is subject to seat availability. The Academy does not guarantee availability in any specific future class session.
2.3 Academy-Initiated Cancellations
If Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC cancels a scheduled class for any reason — including but not limited to instructor illness, inclement weather, low enrollment, venue issues, or circumstances beyond the Academy's reasonable control — registered participants will receive:
-
A full refund of the registration fee to the original payment method; OR
-
The option to reschedule to the next available class session at no additional charge.
The Academy will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of any cancellation. However, Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC is not responsible for any travel, accommodation, lost wages, or other incidental or consequential costs incurred by participants in connection with an Academy-initiated cancellation.
2.4 Non-Refundable Items — Classes
The following items and fees are non-refundable under all circumstances, regardless of the timing of a cancellation:
-
Course materials, textbooks, workbooks, or digital resources that have already been distributed, accessed, downloaded, or otherwise delivered to the participant.
-
Administrative or processing fees, if separately stated at the time of registration.
-
Certification fees paid directly to or on behalf of a certifying body (e.g., American Heart Association). Such fees are governed solely by that organization's own refund policy and are entirely outside the control of Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC.
2.5 Group & Corporate Registrations
-
Group registrations of five (5) or more participants are subject to a separate written Group Training Agreement. The refund and cancellation terms in that Agreement supersede this Policy to the extent of any conflict.
-
In the absence of a signed Group Training Agreement, the standard refund schedule in Section 2.1 applies on a per-seat basis to each individual registration within the group.
-
Individual cancellations within a group booking are evaluated separately on a per-seat basis and do not affect the remaining registered participants in the group.
2.6 Special Circumstances
The Academy recognizes that unexpected life events may prevent attendance. The following circumstances, supported by appropriate documentation, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in a full refund or full credit at Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC's sole discretion:
-
Medical emergency or serious illness — a signed physician's note or hospital documentation is required.
-
Bereavement — a copy of an obituary or funeral program is required.
-
Jury duty — a copy of the official jury summons is required.
-
Military deployment — a copy of official military deployment orders is required.
To submit a special circumstance request, email [email protected] with the subject line "Special Circumstance Refund Request" and attach all supporting documentation. Requests submitted without documentation will not be reviewed under this section and will default to the standard refund schedule.
Part B — Store & Product Purchase Refunds
3. Store & Product Purchase Refunds
3.1 Return Window & Eligibility
Store products purchased through the Academy may be returned for a refund within 30 calendar days of the confirmed delivery date. To be eligible for a return and refund, the following conditions must all be met:
-
The item must be in original, unused, and unopened condition.
-
The item must be in its original packaging, with all included accessories, documentation, manuals, and tags intact and unaltered.
-
The return must be accompanied by a valid Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number issued by the Academy (see Section 3.3 for the RMA process).
Items that do not meet all of the above conditions will not be accepted for return and will be returned to the sender at the sender's expense.
3.2 Non-Returnable & Non-Refundable Products
The following items are strictly non-returnable and non-refundable under any circumstances, due to health, safety, or hygiene considerations, or the nature of the product:
-
Opened or used manikins, pocket masks, face shields, or gloves of any kind.
-
Any personal protective equipment (PPE) once removed from its original sealed packaging.
-
Downloadable or digital course materials, content, or access codes, once delivered or activated.
-
Custom-made or special-order items manufactured or sourced specifically for a customer's order.
-
Items marked "Final Sale" at the time of purchase.
-
Products returned without a valid, Academy-issued RMA number.
3.3 How to Initiate a Return (RMA Process)
All returns must be pre-authorized through the following process. Do not ship any item back without first obtaining an RMA number.
-
Submit a Return Request: Email [email protected] with the subject line "Return Request – [Your Order Number]" within 30 days of confirmed delivery.
-
Provide Required Information: Include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, the reason for the return, and clear photographs if the item is damaged or defective.
-
Await RMA Approval: The Academy will review your request and, if the return qualifies, issue an RMA number within 3–5 business days. You will receive RMA instructions via email.
-
Ship the Item: Ship the item(s) to the address provided with your RMA approval. The RMA number must be clearly marked on the outside of the return package. Packages without a visible RMA number will be refused and returned at the sender's expense.
3.4 Return Shipping Costs
-
Academy Error (wrong item shipped or confirmed defective product): Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC will provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to the customer.
-
All Other Returns: The customer is solely responsible for all return shipping costs. The Academy strongly recommends using a trackable, insured shipping method. Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC is not responsible for returned packages that are lost or damaged in transit and will not issue refunds for items that are not received.
3.5 Defective or Damaged Products
-
Customers must report defective or damaged products within 5 business days of confirmed delivery by emailing [email protected] with the subject line "Damaged Item – [Your Order Number]". The email must include clear photographs documenting the damage or defect.
-
For confirmed defective or damaged items, Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC will offer, at its sole discretion, one of the following remedies: (a) a replacement product; (b) a repair, if practicable; or (c) a full refund.
-
Damage or malfunction resulting from misuse, improper storage, normal wear and tear, or failure to follow manufacturer instructions is not covered under this provision and does not qualify for a refund or replacement.
-
Failure to report within the 5-business-day window may disqualify the claim from this section; late reports will be evaluated under the standard return policy.
3.6 Order Cancellations
-
Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of placement, provided the order has not yet been shipped. To cancel, email [email protected] immediately with the subject line "Order Cancellation – [Your Order Number]".
-
Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled. The customer must follow the return process in Section 3.3 upon receipt of the item.
-
If Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC cancels an order for any reason — including but not limited to product unavailability, a pricing error, or suspected fraudulent activity — a full refund will be issued automatically to the original payment method within the processing timeframes described in Section 4.
4. Refund Processing
-
Approved refunds will be processed within 7–10 business days of the Academy's receipt and approval of the refund request (or, for product returns, within 7–10 business days of the Academy's receipt and inspection of the returned item).
-
All refunds are issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. The Academy does not redirect refunds to an alternate payment method.
-
Credit card refunds may require an additional 3–7 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your card issuer's processing timeline, which is outside the Academy's control.
-
Partial refunds (e.g., for partial group cancellations, returns of one item from a multi-item order, or the 50% refund tier) will reflect only the eligible portion of the original payment.
-
Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC does not issue refunds in cash unless the original payment was made exclusively in cash at the time of service or purchase.
5. Class Credits
-
Class credits issued under this Policy are valid for 12 months from the date of issuance. Credits not used within this period will be automatically forfeited with no extension or cash equivalent.
-
Credits are non-transferable and may only be applied by the registered participant to classes offered by Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC.
-
Credits carry no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash, check, or any other monetary equivalent.
-
Credits cannot be combined with other promotional discounts, coupon codes, or special pricing unless expressly permitted in writing by the Academy at the time of redemption.
6. Chargebacks & Disputes
Carolina Resuscitation Academy, LLC strongly encourages all customers and participants to contact us directly before initiating a chargeback or dispute with their bank or credit card issuer. In most cases, we are able to resolve billing concerns faster than a formal chargeback process.
-
To open a billing dispute with the Academy, email [email protected] with the subject line "Billing Dispute – [Order or Registration Number]". We will respond within 3–5 business days.
-
Unauthorized, frivolous, or fraudulent chargebacks filed against valid, completed transactions may result in the suspension of the customer's account, refusal of future transactions, and, where appropriate, reporting to applicable authorities or collection agencies.
-
In the event a chargeback is initiated, all Academy-issued credits or rescheduling accommodations associated with the disputed transaction will be immediately void and cancelled.
7. North Carolina & New York State Consumer Rights
North Carolina
This Policy is designed to comply with applicable North Carolina consumer protection laws, including Chapter 75 of the North Carolina General Statutes (Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act). Nothing in this Policy limits any rights you may have under applicable state or federal consumer protection laws and regulations. Where this Policy conflicts with a mandatory provision of applicable law, the applicable law controls.
